ASCoN
Asian Spinal Cord Network

About Us

ASCoN was formed in 2001 and consists of a group of organisations in the Asia region that have come together to share and learn from each other in all aspects of spinal cord injury management, from initial treatment of the patient to re-integration of the person. ASCoN became an affiliated society of the International Spinal Cord Society (ISCoS) in 2004.

The need for and relevance of ASCoN are based on the premise that countries with similar cultures facing similar problems in  relation to rehabilitation would benefit more from a regional learning and sharing forum, rather than a wider, purely international one. ASCoN is seen as a catalyst for change and development in the field of spinal injury management and rehabilitation in the Asian region.

Today ASCoN has 74 member organisations based in 18 countries throughout Asia and continues to work with vigor in the achievement of our objectives:

To strengthen spinal injury services and human resource development for organisations and people working in spinal injury management in the Asia region

To share information, ideas and knowledge of best practices in spinal cord injury management among members
